Environmental, Social and Governance Principles
Latrobe Valley Village is committed to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, including a strong emphasis on diversity and inclusion. We firmly believe that a sustainable future requires the integration of responsible business practices that address the needs of the planet, people, and stakeholders, while fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.
We have commenced our journey toward practicing the best ESG we can, and we are committed to growing into an organisation where our actions demonstrate our intentions.
Environmental Responsibility
We understand the urgency of protecting and preserving our environment. Through our ESG commitment, we endeavour to minimise our carbon footprint, reduce waste, and promote eco-friendly practices across our operations. By implementing sustainable measures and embracing renewable resources, we aim to contribute positively to the health of our planet.
In practice at the time of writing, this means we use solar power, tank water, resource saving LED lights and shower heads, and recycling programs, and ensure we meet building and other sustainability codes.
Social Impact
We recognise the importance of fostering a positive social impact. We are dedicated to creating a workplace that promotes diversity, equality, and inclusivity. We believe that diverse perspectives lead to innovation and better decision-making.
Our commitment extends beyond our internal operations, as we actively engage with local communities to support education, health, and social development initiatives. We strive to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.
Governance and Ethics
Integrity and transparency are the pillars of our governance practices. We are committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical behaviour, promoting accountability, and maintaining a robust governance framework. By actively recruiting skilled and experienced people, and promoting diversity and inclusion within our governance structures, we ensure that different voices are heard and represented at all levels of decision-making.
We routinely undertake self-assessment and voluntary audit practices to ensure our governance practices are contemporary and strong. We are committed to Human Rights principles and the elimination of modern slavery and recognise our responsibility in assessing our supply chains and operations to ensure we do our part.
Measuring Impact
We understand that commitment to ESG requires continual improvement and accountability.
To measure our progress and impact, we will initiate and grow our capability to report on our ESG performance, including diversity and inclusion metrics.
Latrobe Valley Village is dedicated to making a meaningful difference by integrating ESG, diversity, and inclusion into our core business practices. We believe that by embracing sustainability, responsible business conduct, and fostering a diverse and inclusive culture, we can create long-term value for our residents, families, staff, and other stakeholders while contributing to a more sustainable and equitable world.
